Glenn Loury has always been a contrarian both intellectually and in his own lifestyle detailed in his confessional autobiography "Late Admissions." It is somewhat ironic that this opponent of affirmative action and liberal diversity initiatives now has taken the side of Palestinians when he would often not take the side of blacks in US political struggles. However, his statement against Israel's policies in Gaza starting at minute 14:00 of this interview are quite moving, and I think both absolutely on target and courageous of him to say in an academic environment where such sentiments are quickly punished or penalized. Good for Glenn! And I highly recommend his excellent and often shocking book and life story. Great and timely interview!
